This is another photo from James Baxendale who sent in the picture seen before of Randolph Trafford, who owned the 1935 Hudson 8.
James says "The photograph was taken in Geneva in May 1928. The car belonged to my great great uncle, "Windy" Corbett-Winder who was a well-known car expert in the family".
He has traced the registration number to the Worcestershire Records Office. It was sold by Stour Valley Motor Co Ltd of Stourbridge on 12 December 1927 (the company incidentally still exists). It's Hp was noted as 29.11.

Thanks Paul for the interesting picture and the history behind the car.
May have been an early 28 model as Essex did not have 4 wheel brakes until the 1928 models.
The tires look a little wider than the 475/500x20 originally fitted.
The radiator shutters & cowl lights are '27
Looks to me to be a 27 Hudson, not an Essex. The emblem on the radiator shell looks lie a triangle not a hexagon. The cowl lights on the closed body Essex were attached to the windshield post on down on the cowl.
Definitely a Hudson, not an Essex
