Hudson offered Lap Robes and Pillows in 1935. Does anyone have a picture of one of the Lap Robes or know what kind of fabric or color was used ?

The only lap robe I have seen in my 50 yrs of HET was in the OEM box. It was a gray wool blanket with gray trim.
From that era most all were made of wool.

They were often called Buffalo Robes? Many were made by a company called Chase and have their label sewed in one corner.
Some were plain, and some were very colorful on one side and plain on the back side. That’s why cars had a robe rail on the back of the front seat.

Thanks for the replies. I have younger people ask what that rope on the back of the seat was for. I hope to find a suitable robe for my car that would be similar to those used back then. I have a charcoal brick foot heater for my Model T that seems to confuse people. People back then wanted to keep warm but the heaters ( if available ) were not like modern cars.
Thanks for the replies. I kinda like the idea of a buffalo robe.

The old robes used were heavy, that’s why they used robe rails. Later cars with the rope on the back of the front seats usually had a blanket which was lighter than the heavy robes used in the earlier cars.
