I was wondering if anyone had a lubrication guide for a Hudson Super Six Phaeton 1926 that detailed the correct oils and greases with modern day specifications? The Manuals use terminology relevant to the time, and I'm not sure what the modern equivalents would be?

Engine Oil:-
Gear Box Oil:-
Rear Axle:-
Also the Manuals on line talk about changing the Clutch oil with Motor oil + Kerosene? My local garage has never heard of such a thing, could anyone explain what this is for?
Any advice gratefully received.
Dave.

Doug WIldrick sells clutch oil, as does the club store. I have a wet clutch in my 39. I think all Hudson's of the time did although I cant say that for certain. I would suspect Doug can also tell what modern oils to use if someone doesn't jump in and give you the info requested.

That is a great site David. I am certainly a Penrite fan as you know.

Beware though, Penrite's blurb on "Vintage Car Oil" states, "many vintage cars had inefficient oil pumps, hence we supply an extra thick oil to compensate for this", or words to that effect. Hudson and Essex engines do not need thick oil. 10W-40 is recommended, nothing heavier.
