Found a thread on the other forum that stated the 2023RN is the proper vacuum advance chamber for a 308. Started the car and the back carb flooded out, stuck float? Tapped on carb while running but didn't help. Shut off and drove the '54 Cadillac instead, came back, started again and ran fine, no flooding. I'm will pull the back carb off and check it out.

It's actually the needle valve that sticks. After several overflow episodes I changed over to ball valves and never had another problem with sticking. The ball valves are advertised in the WTN.

I seen those advertised also. Yesterday I went through the sequence from a '52 manual for the twin h and I was 1 turn off on the yoke on the back carb BUT as I was adjusting the idle stop, I could hear a faint whistle from the back carb that would disappear as I pulled the throttle plate back to its stop. I think the shaft needs to be rebushed or I need a different carb or base. I might tinker with it today after I'm done with yardwork. Terry
