Here are a few 'for the heck of it' pics of our Hornet in Germany. Gets some notice on the Autobahn, to be sure. It's my daughter's pride & joy. Gave it to her for her 21st birthday. She can't drive due to her disability, but absolutely LOVES 'her' car. I've driven for a wedding, and had it out at the NATO Air Command Family Day. They had a surfing theme, so I put the paddleboard in the back and draped an original 48-star flag over the top boot. Lots of fun. Brent

Good looking car. Thanks for the photos.
Thanks for posting the lovely pictures! Nice to see the Hudson making new friends in Germany. If I happen to be in Germany and see a Hudson Hornet convertible flying down the autobahn, I'll know that "There goes Brent Bohne!"
Nice ride, Brent! Good to have a nifty car to drive through the beautiful German countryside! 🙂
Park
Hey Park, been meaning to write you. Just turned her over 90K - still purring like a kitten. It was a real hit at the NATO Family Day, with the paddleboard & all. I had wanted to give the kids rides and raise some $$ for charity, but someone got nervous liability-wise. As it's getting cold here in Germany, might have to button it up for the winter in the next 3-4 weeks. Cheers, Brent
Nice car! Good to see there are other Hudsons in Germany. I´ve a 1952 Hudson Hornet club coupe....still making some problems. Hope to get in on the road in the next weeks....
Thanks for the pics.
Marco
Hi Marco,
I had a '52 sedan when I was at university, many years ago. Great cars.
Where in Germany are you located? We are in the Rheinland-Pfalz, neat Kaiserslautern.
Brent
Hi Brent,
i´m located in Freiburg im Breisgau (black forest area). I assume it is 130 miles (220km) to Kaiserslautern. Roadtrip! But as i mentioned before: there are still some little things to do on my hornet to get it back on the road.
Marco, BEAUTIFUL-looking '52. I drove a '52 Hornet sedan back in my university days, prompting my ever-lasting love of Hudson stepdowns. Freiburg isn't too far tor a road trip. Let me know (maybe next spring/summer?) when your coupe is back on the road. In the mean time, if you happen to be in the Kaiserslautern area, give me a call and we could get together over a beer.
I had heard your name actually earlier from Ken Ufheil in Texas, as he has been over this way a few times helping some of the Hudson guys here in Germany.
Regards,
Brent
Kann auch (etwas schlimmes) Deutsch, wenn notwendig ist.
Brent, I knew you would have a lot of fun with that car! I'm glad to see you enjoying it! Keep Hudsons rolling!!
Marco, beautiful coupe"!!! looks like your real close to driving though?. New tires,Hubcaps and outside mirrors?. Does it have a stick or auto trans?.
Doug, I'm having a ball with it. Here's a couple of pics I posted on the Hudson site, 'drag racing' with an F-16 Falcon. 1) at start line; 2) Falcon goes to afterburner, pulls ahead; 3) Hornet pulls out OD, wins! OK, the F-16 was mounted on a pole, so couldn't really do that much, but was fun taking the pics at NATO AIRCOM HQ where I work. Cheers, Brent
Brent, i will definitely want to visit you.....most of all with my Hornet! We have to stay in contact! I love the pics with the F16! I love also airplanes. Not far away from Freiburg is Bremgarten. There is an airport. Formerly for the airbase "Immelmann" (Aufklärungsgeschwader 51). I think they had Tornados But that is long gone. But there are still some interesting things going on: there is a little company which restors old warplanes from ww2 (ME109!!! think they sold one last year to the US, Mustangs, F4U corsair, Spitfire). Lots of fun watching them flying around.
Marco, being that I work on an Air Force base, I too love airplanes. Would love to visit the place restoring the old WW2 warbirds. At the Berlin Air Show about 4-5 years ago, they had an actual, flying ME-262, which zoomed over the field and did a barrel roll. Think it probably had modern engines & such, but was still a beautiful sight. Also had a couple of ME-109s there. In UK a couple years ago, they did a fly-over with Spitfires. Used to know a guy in the US (Minnesota) who had a flying P-51, as well as a Seafire (carrier version of the Spitfire with folding wings), B-25, MiG-17, and several other interesting aircraft. I once flew across Africa in a DC-3, which was another great experience. On a trip to a Bulgarian air base, standing on the balcony off the tower, they buzzed us at 200m with a MiG-29, in afterburner. That was also 'memorable.' I'm not a pilot, but have flown a few flight simulators, which was great fun. Cheers, Brent
