Have any of you guys overhauled a turn signal switch for a 53? Is there anyone that does or any for sale?

Thanks

Dusty

First, are you sure that the problem lies in the blinker switch and not in the wiring to the lights? Have you tested the circuit right at the wires that come out of the switch?

Second: I've never repaired a turn signal switch; maybe someone will offer you some advice on that.

Third: these Hudson turnsignal switches come up for sale from time to time on Ebay, in the WTN, and at various Hudson flea markets. You could also shoot some e-mails off to various Hudson vendors who advertise regularly in the WTN. Just be sure to get the switch that matches your car, however. I think the Wasp has only one socket (with a dual filament lamp) in the taillight, and so the bright filament serves both brakelight and signal functions. That would be (I think) a 6-wire switch because the rear taillights tie in with the brakelight circuit. The Commodore taillights, on the other hand, have two sockets each, with one lamp being dedicated to the turn signal function only. That would require only a 3-wire switch. (Please forgive me if I'm wrong; I own a pre-StepDown so I'm not an authority on them!)
