Does anyone in Hudsonland know of a source for floor pans. I am still resurrecting a 1947 Hudson Pickup that has a totally rusted out floor. The side sections are not a problem but the shaped center section that covers the transmission is a head scratcher. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob
Bob -
Sadly, the information I have to relay is not what I would consider good news.
I have been looking for 'transmission humps' for quite some time (both for my '39 and for my '46). As far as I have been able to determine, there is no manufacturer reproducing this part of the floor pans.
On the bright side, there is a firm that is manufacturing some parts of Hudson floor pans -
http://c2cfabrication.com/index.html
They make 'multi-year' floor pans, which means that they will not be an exact fit (more than somewhat generic in nature) - so will require some modification(s) and persuasion.
And, there are others that either fabricate or have them made -
Perry Spring (goes by 'Bent Metal' on the classiccar forum http://www.classiccar.com/ ) - he is a magician with metal;
Dr Doug Wildrick (Wildrick Restorations - http://wildrickrestorations.com/), his shop does just about everything for Hudsons -
There are others that do this type of metalwork also, but this should get you headed in the right direction.
