Hey folks! Can anyone recommend a good speedo repair shop they've used who will actually fix and calibrate an old stepdown speedo? The shop I sent mine to made it look pretty at big expense, but I'm guessing they didn't really go through it. It failed after a few thousand miles- needle gets stuck at 40 mph and makes a bunch of clicking noises. Tried lubing shaft but no difference. Problem appears to be internal. Willing to mail it wherever.

David,
Although I generally not to mix business and pleasure, in addition to my 50 Hudson, I own Bill's Speedometer Shop, here in Bellbrook, OH. Bill's has been in business for over 50 years and we have a good reputation for fair prices, quality work and reasonable turn around time. Our focus is on mechanical restoration with occasional cosmetic work, not visa versa.
You can reach me by phone or email. Details on website.

Kudos to Pat Mescher and Bills Speedo Shop! You have my business for life! Sorry for the late reply but took a while to reinstall speedo. It is perfect! Smooth operation, and speed is within 2-3 of my GPS- as good as some of my modern cars. More importantly, throughout the process Pat kept in constant contact with me- I've never experienced this level of communication with a business before. Price was very fair. THANK YOU PAT!!!
David,
THanks for the kind words and I am very happy you report your experience. Very busy with speedometer work since last winter, so turn around time becomes longer, but quality first.
