I WANT TO ADD LUBE TO MY 1931 ESSEX STEERING GEAR BOX AND WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS RECOMENDED. I TRIED GL 4 AND IT LEAKS OUT.

Replace you gear lube with John Deere Corn Head grease. Made for slow rotating agricultural equipment mechanisms. Works great. Comes green (naturaly) in a grease tube made for a grease gun. Tractor or ag equipment dealers should have this. No leaks either. Viscosity is higher that gear oil.
