What is the spark plug gap for a flathead six with 2 barrel carburetor? What color was this motor painted when leaving the factory? my car is a 1937 Hudson Terraplane

This isn't Don Beach's old Model 71 four-door, is it?
If so, I hadn't realized he put a 2-bbl. carb in it, which would have entailed installing a different intake manifold than the one for the original single barrel carb.
I don't recall the spark plug gap but if you're a member of the Club (which it seems you would be, since you're on the H-E-T forum!), you have on-line library privileges and can download any on-line literature. Just click on LIBRARY (along the top menu) and scroll down to the 1930-39 section for sales or technical books. There is even a complete 1934-37 Mechanical Procedures Manual.

Meanwhile, I'm sure that someone will jump in here with the exact spark plug gap you seek.

William,

If a gauge isn't handy, you can use
matchbook covers, which have a thickness of 0.012 to 0.013 inches. Two thicknesses gets to about 0.024 or 0.025. (I just tried a variety of different covers, which are all in this range.)
