Just put a 308 in my 1942 super six, riding low in the front, about 4-5 inches. I guess I need a set of eight cylinder car front springs. Anyone have any or know where I can get a pair ? Thanks.

Have you changed the brakes? Heavier engine requires bigger brakes!

If you can't locate a good set of used ones, you might approach a company like EATON SPRING, which makes brand-new springs for antique cars, and should have the correct patterns and specs to do so. The chart only goes back to 1946, though I suspect they would be able to supply earlier Hudsons as well. Especially since the 1942 is essentially the same body as a 1946.

I ordered springs for my '51 Hornet. I filled out their input sheet and in a couple weeks I had a perfect set of springs for my car. $200.

Calvin, how do you like the ride height with the 8 springs?

Didn't get a chance to put them in yet. Hopefully will get them in soon.
