I recently inherited my 1930 8 and am looking looking for a few things. It has no hood ornament and looks kind of bare. I'm wondering if there ever was one. I have a couple old posters of similar cars and they have no ornament. I certainly don't want one if it doesn't belong there.
My car has a electric fuel pump and regulator on the fuel line. I would like to go back to the vacuum tank if they are at all available. Or unless you all convince me otherwise!
I have no trunk on the back of the car. The bracket/stand is there, but no trunk. Is there a place to source one?
Thanks for your input guys. I look forward to being a useful part of this Forumn!

Scott,
Didn't get to this post yet, and had left a request for pictures. I'm looking for the vacuum tank for my eight as well (1933 Standard Eight). I take it that your engine is running, so that's a start. mine has to be rebuilt.

Hi Tim,
Trying to upload photos now. I'll get it done tonight. My engine was running recently anyway. I anticipate getting back on the road soon. That is the reason for the tires. They look great, until you look closely and see where the separations will happen in the near future. I guess you should replace tires every 40 years or so.
Tim,
The photos are posted in an album called 1930 Great Eight Engine Bay. Let me know if you want some close-ups etc.

Scott,
Thanks for posting these! I should post some pictures of my car as well. The engines are remarkably the same, as expected. I don't have any Fan or the assembly that holds it in place for my engine. The generator and carb are missing. The air cleaner for the carb is a little different than your as it angles and goes straight up. Dist/Generator setup is the same. it looks like your water coolant tube on top of the engine block may be damaged as it has rubber tubing to form part of the connection. Those are one piece, and I have that part. The vacuum tank for the pump mounts on the driver's side firewall on my car and the tubing is there. Just not the vacuum cannister and glass bowl. I think you car may have had an alteration to the cooling water jacket on the side of the block to make an extra nipple to go to the heater that is presumably in the cab. Your engine has teh two heads setup just like mine. By 1933 they ditched the oi cans and mine is supposed to have two horns mounted outside below the headlamps. I'll post a few pictures in the gallery even though they have been posted elsewhere already. I'm missing one of the breather tubes. The one at the rear with the funny angles.
Thanks, Tim
Scott,
I loaded a few photos, but it wouldn't let me add anymore than is there. Perhaps they were too large a size. Anyway, I gave up on it for now. You can look at that and I'll post some more later.
Tim
Really amazing how the body style changed so much in three years. I look forward to seeing the engine bay.
