I am in need of 1 oil control wiper ring for a pinned 232 stock bore piston. I would be interested in a single ring or full set new or used. I have only found non pinned sets, is it possible to make these work with some kind of modification to ring or piston? I would actually prefer some used rings, hopefully someone has some. thanks preston
I will look... I may have a NOS Set or partial set.
Chuck, Thanks for reply. Anything you have would be awesome, thanks for looking. Preston

I had discussion with a very experienced machinist regarding putting regular rings on a piston designed for pined rings. After we talked a bit he asked me, rather incredibly, why I would want to do that? I gave him all the normal reasons. He then laughed and said, why doint you just put the pin slot in the ring. He has the set-up to do just that.
Now, he is very, very experienced, he said that when building Hudson engines for stock car racing he did it all the time. The machine he used, and still has, was made for just that purpose. He is more than 80 years old and works everyday.
So, my suggestion would be to find an old machine shop and see if they can put the slot in the ring. Of course this option would be more expensive than finding an open set in the right size....but it is an option
