This is an 8 with Manual tranny and OD.

Where I have my finger pointed in the picture, it sometimes does not select a gear. I greased the fitting, but the mechanism was pretty free already with grease on it. I'm thinking there might be some kind of spring in there that's worn out maybe, but before pulling it apart, someone on the website has knowledge about this?

At least it's easy to get at ! B)

Thanks !

Tim, first lube the shift tube. If you look, the back side of the shift handle fulcrum is open. Take a rag,you penetrating lube and spray aggresiive amount of lube into the back side, while moving the shift tube inside barrel. This makes the movement between the gates work much smoother. These are always neglected and get gummed up and cause numerous shifting problems. The shift handle should just glide inside the tube. Sometimes when it gets so gummed up,it breaks the little ball off the end of the shift handle, then won't shift between gates without jamming it. Hope this helps Doug
