Hey folks, got a 54 HH Convertible project car from Steve Clarke, nice car, but no original block. No history on it's previous owners or even where it was sold originally. Looking to take a real shot in the dark to find out more of the car's history and find the original block. VIN 7284616. If you have a 54 308 block sitting around, please check the number. Would love to have a reunion. Also, if you know any of the history of this car I would love to hear it. I understand the original color was black with maroon interior.

Thank Lance. I have one 54 block with an apparent crack in cyl 6 so I may just need to take you up on that. We'll see.
No pressure David. One of the ones I have is a bare block. I bought it years ago from a fellow Hudsonite. Time went by and I forgot about it and went and had another block rebuilt. Then AFTER it was built guess what I rediscovered? Duh.
Isn't that the way things go? Yeah, I might go for a bare block, better shipping, but I don't know if I have the goodies for a 54 vs a 53. Have plenty of 53 parts, but I hear the 54 had a different oiling system for the timing chain, for example. I may need a complete block. Will talk again when time comes
