I have inherited some Drivemaster parts and would like to make it all work. I have assembled what I have on a 262 dummy engine block according to the attached photo from a Hudson manual and I seem to be missing a few parts. I have the following questions:
Items 1 and 6 - "Intake pipe" this tube ends just above the head as shown in the photo. Where does it go from there?
Item 16 - "Vacuum pipe" this comes from the right side solenoid and is about 4" long and curved back to about 90 degrees. Where does it go from here?
Item 5 - "Accelerator to cross shaft rod" Mine appears to be about 1 1/2" too long (perhaps is is from an 8 cyl) Are there different lengths?
Items 68 & 72 - "Cross over switch rod" Not clear in the Fig 1 photo. I think it goes from the top of the transmission control switch, to the transmission cable shift lever. A few photos would be helpful.
And one more thing - the wiring harness has a 6 pin round plug that appears to go to something on the firewall. Can someone post a photo of what this goes to? it would be helpful to know what part I am looking for.
Many thanks to anyone who can assist me with this!

Mike, I'm sorry I haven't pulled the parts you requested yet, just too cold now. I do have exactly what you need.
So, if the transmission was there and it was in the car, there would be a shift gate cable. On the top of the actual lever, there is another hole for this rod. When the supermatic/drivemaster is on, moving the shift lever to the Neutral position, move the shift lever parallel with the column tube. You should be able to here a clicking sound. This opens the points on the auto shift , knowing you are going to select low or reverse , neither shift or operate automatically . only the auto clutch will function. This was another critical adjustment.
The pictures of the tubes running up the side. The shortest one is for the vent, or intake air into the shift cylinder. That tube goes to the air cleaner. The correct air cleaner has another port coming off the bottom of it for this .. I think the tube you show is also for an engine equipped with oil bath air cleaner.

Hello Doug,
There is absolutely no rush on this stuff. I want to purchase a Supermatic trans from you that was offered to me recently. I have already purchased the gaskets and seals for another trans but I might as well wait till I get the Supermatic and rebuild that instead. Hopefully it will have parts attached such as the governor and rail switches etc. Once I get it I will have a better idea what else I will need. This is all a bit of a head scratcher but I'm into it. I'm sure I'll be the first one on my block to have a 48 with Supermatic! Ha, ha! Hopefully someone else out there will be able to post a few photos for me. Thanks for your reply!

I have a large tote with Supermatic Drive components in it that I removed from my '50 C6 in case you need parts...they're not going anywhere. Terry

Hi Terry. Thanks for your reply. I'm assuming you are still using the transmission, and what you have in the tote are the linkages, governor, switches etc. I'm curious as to what you have. Yes, I'm interested in buying a few things...or all of it.
Thank you you for the offer!

Mike

I'll try and dig out the tote and get some pictures for you, maybe this weekend . I took everything off to work on the engine and have not the time nor intelligence to put that contraption back on in working order. Terry
