I picked up a set of mint Unity H-2 fog lights still in the Hudson box part number HA-212727 for a 48-49 Hudson. These are the fender mount type. Is there a bracket out there that will convert these to bumper or splash apron mount? The only thing missing in the box was the switch knob.....all the wiring, grommets, connectors and directions for mounting are present. What knob came with this kit and does anyone have one to sell? or maybe a bracket? Terry

I think so Terry. The only type I've seen is to convert them to a bumper mount. It probably wouldn't be to hard to make a pair of brackets to mount them, preferably a stainless bracket. If you removed the bolt and pivot from the back, and riveted a piece of stainless custom made, it would probably work fine, and look good. Just an idea, hope this helps.
Since these are for a '48 -'49 , the switch mounted as an accessory knob on the dash. If you remove the long chrome piece from the ignition switch over to the right, it has knock out type blanks. These are not really knock outs, but have the exact place where you drill them out. After drilling the hole, we use a dremel to complete making the hole accept the switch. The knob is supposed to match the rest of the knobs, Commodore or the plastic Super knobs, which ever model you have.
You will need the special accessory bar to install into '47 and earlier cars. This is made for these cars and has holes in both ends that will match the underside of the dash..

Thanks Doug The lights are wrapped and going under the X-mas tree so that will give me time to search for some type of bracket. I was planning on putting the lights on the '50 convertible, keeping everything 6v, but I don't quite like the look of the fender location. The instruction sheet with the light kit is very detailed as far as location of holes to be drilled and wiring route and where to drill for the switch mount on the dash.....I just hope it works for a '50C! I made brackets that went down behind the bumper and utilised the bumper bolts. No extra holes into the metalwork. Yes they dress the cars well.

Alistair, that looks like the route I'll go when I put them on unless I come across another method of converting bumper brackets. Are the bumper brackets specific to Hudsons or are they a universal fit? terry

Don't know the answer re bumper brackets Terry. I just formed the brackets for the lights in a way I could utilize the bumper bolts for securing to save drilling unnecessary holes in the car.
