Hi Everybody,
My name is Rich. I come here via the Hudson forum on Classiccar.com, thanks to John Forkner, who suggested I join the H-E-T Club.
I'm a New Yorker currently living in Switzerland. I grew up a devout car lover on Long Island in the 70-80s, spending too many nights and weekends working on muscle cars with my friends when I should have been doing my homework. As I've gotten older I've developed a greater appreciation for older cars and as a result have developed a growing love for Hudsons.
At the moment I am actively looking to buy a 51-53 Hornet Club Coupe (or Sedan), ideally with Twin-H Power and a Hydramatic. I've fallen hard in love their flowing lines and racing heritage, and see them as America's first real muscle cars. If anyone could help my find the Hudson of my dreams, I'd sure be much obliged.
I am looking forward to receiving my first issue of the WTN, to getting to know you guys here on the forum and to learning about Hudsons. Most of all, I am looking forward to buying my first Hudson and starting a new chapter in my car guy life.
As the Romans used to say: See you 'round the forum. 😉
All the best,
Rich
Welcome to Hudson Essex Terraplane Rich! I'll keep an eye for that car. Do you want one that requires a full restoration or something already restored? Also how far are willing to look, willing to import from the US?
Hi Christopher,
Thank you for the welcome. I'd like a car that's rust free and running well, but am willing to consider anything, because you never know what treasure you might miss if you get too picky.
I'm willing to buy one wherever I find one, as long as it's THE one for me. I've imported from back home, so I know how that works, and I'm fine with it.
Ideally I'd love to find a long-term ownership car in excellent condition that I could care for and cherish. I like that scenario the best. I have a car like that, and it makes the ownership experience that much more enriching.
All the best,
Rich
Welcome aboard Rich. You found a great bunch of people ready and willing to help in any way needed. I've been around this club for a few years and I can tell you it's a family sharing old cars. You won't regret being part of the Hudson family.
