I am posting a couple photos of my original interior pattern, albeit faded, along side SMS Auto's offering. Although the sample from SMS is a beautiful pattern and SMS states "exact match" , it does not match perfectly.
The issue for me is that my original interior has damage in some areas and I'd love to keep the good original content.

Clearly not a pattern match; some colors are probably close match though. Pat, did you ever decide anything on your dash parts? I appreciate all the work you're doing here. The door inserts had a diamond pattern, but that is also a different material I think, all one color.
Hey, Tim.
For now, just keeping dash and door/window trim as is. Since you asked, I've attached a photo of the original door insert cloth, with the diamond quilt pattern.
Sorry for the poor photo, but the color is a very faded gray whereas the protected area under the door and window handles is a grayish blue, which I believe would be the correct headliner color as well according to my color 1950 Sales Brochure. I should scan that for reference
also. The version here appears different.

Does SMS have that door fabric also? Headliner?
The colors in your car are faded, so even an exact match won't match. Look inside the pocket on the back of the front seat. This will likely be much closer to what they were originally. You can send SMS a sample of your original material, and they will make an exact match for you for I think an upcharge of $75.00 per yard. This cost is almost inconsequential in redoing the interior. The only downside is it may take them 1-2 years to get around to making it for you.
I got the Brown 50C material form SMS and it is a much closer match to my original pattern than the blue sample is to your blue. The stripes line up much better on the brown than the blue.

Tim,
I did not research SMS for the headliner or door fabric. However, almost every headliner supplier does carry the gray material. Regarding the door panel, I believe that it can be created, as the factory did, with batting and a sewn in pattern.
Mike,
Yes, I know my material is quite faded, and that SMS advertises manufacturing of patterns. But your message was the first account of how long it may take them to execute the customer fabric. Thanks,
Pat
I needed the blue material and I told my upholsterer that SMS had it. He told me he didn’t the fact that they charge your credit card right away and then you wait, wait, and wait for delivery. I told him I’d pay. He sent a sample and they responded that they had it along with a sample. He ordered it, they charged his CC. And I payed him thinking they must have it in stock. I left my seats and went to FL for three months thinking they would be done when I got back. When I check with the upholstery shop when I got back he told me no material yet. I contacted SMS and received the material a few weeks later. If I had known this before I would have gone with blue leather which was an option.
