Hi, I am hoping someone can explain to me the differences, if any, in the block heads of the 308 engine. I have a '53 Hornet, and on the head it says "power dome". I see some heads say "super power dome", and some have "H-145" on them. What's are the differences?
Thanks.

There were a variety of heads used on Hudson blocks in aluminum and iron form. The H-145 tells me it was a 308 head as the 308 was rated at 145 base HP thru 1953. The power dome was the more standard head. The super power dome gave you a few more ponies by raising compression ratio.
