I found these correspondences my grandfather had with Bernie back in 1968. Thought I'd post them in case anyone would want to read them. Bernie talked of compression, cylinder heads, pistons, etc.

Never met Bernie but, he owned my 31 Essex Touring Sedan 2 or 3 owners prior to my owning it in 1988. He as well as other owners should be commended for doing such a fine job preserving a somewhat boring pedestrian vehicle. When I sold it 15 years ago it passed thru several more owners and is now somewhere in S. Carolina or Georgia. Hopefully, it didn't get rodded!
