This guy has had this 1951 Hudson Hornet Coupe for sale for a while now. I am curious what folks think the value of this is. I think this is pretty high for a shell with no engine and no interior. I have been in conversations with the owner. His bottom price so far has been $3200. He thinks it will sell for more. If you look closely you will notice it has a 1952 front clip on it and he has claimed it is solid but states the floors need to be repaired.

A lot of work there. He must have never restored a stepdown. After more looking, 1500.00 tops. I would go a little higher if it were a 52-53 coupe.
He has been trying to sell that car for at least 5 years.
There's a guy here trying to sell a '49 Super Six, minus engine and drive train, for $14K. Dreamer!
Don't forget, looks like there are no bumpers, rust thru on what appears to be its original hood, no radiator, the list goes on and on. It's good that he did save the car ! I hope someone ends up with it.

Thanks Doug. I was trying to assess if in any universe this car would be worth $3200. I have been looking around and making calls to see if I could find a #4 51 Hornet Coupe. Evan and I thought it would be fun to make a Doc Hudson look alike. Build an engine and either sparse interior or no interior except for a drivers seat. If according to Don Crane, he has been trying to sell this car for 5 years, I am baffled why he wouldn't lower his price. He claims the frame is solid, but I would expect the normal on the rockers and back. I don't mind welding up holes, it is the complete replacement of frame rails that gets time consuming. I might go look at this the next time I go to Don's place.
I submitted a photo of what I think is a '51 2 dr which was printed in the most recent White Triangle news. It's at a used car lot in Mt Vernon, WA. I don't know if it's fro sale or if so how much, or how far that is from you.
