How rare are 1937 Hudson 8's? I am currently en-route to pickup one after seeing it listed online last year. It does have electric hand but I fear that some or most of the parts are missing. There is also a chance she could be a Canadian car too - built in Ontario.
As for its straight eight - she has known mechanical issues. Does Dale Cooper have a gasket kit for the eight cylinder engine? Who would I need to speak to about getting new components (if it comes to that?).
This car has been garage kept for most of its life, and I am going to be the 3rd owner with provenance going back to the original owner back in 1937.
Yes, Dale has all the mechanical parts.

Pictures when you get it!!
Of course Kerry. I even do one better and do a video of her when i get her home. I am filming when i can on this road trip.
This will be my first Model 74. I have a bunch of Model 71 Terraplanes and one Model 72 Canadian Terraplane.
Alright I just got her home today. The good news, I am missing very little; The bad news, what I need to get her back on the road, some of it is harder to find.
Does anyone have a bolt size list for bolting the fenders to the body, grill to the fenders, body to the frame?
As for parts...
I need the following:
1937 Hudson 8 Head - mine is cracked severely
New valves
New Valve springs
New piston rings
Plastic "carrot" for the hood ornament
Briggs and Stration Key Blank(s)
Window rubber seals and felt (Wildrick rubber parts have it for 37?)
Size and dimensions of the four wooden roof bows at the rear of the car, counting from the rear window towards the front.
Size, length and specifications of the hood "rods" that go from the cowl to the grille.
Here are answers to a few of your questions:
For bolt sizes and quantities and a lot of other useful information) see the 1937 parts book. I believe there is a downloadable one at the on-line library, here at the H-E-T website.
The plastic "carrot" for '37 Hudsons is more like a plastic "wing" and I know of no one making them. I'm sure you can obtain some transparent colored acrylic somewhere; if you could borrow someone's "wing" you might be able to get someone with a computer milling machine to cut one out of the plastic, then you could buff to a fine finish. (Make a couple extras, why dontcha, and then you can sell them to other '37 owners and get some of your money back!
For key blanks you might search the internet for shops that deal in antique car locks, to see if they have blanks. I remember finding them in a hardware store in the 70's, marked "American Motors". If AMC still used Hudson key blanks, you may have a better chance of finding them because there is still a lot of AMC stuff out there.
By all means go to Wildrick's with your wish-list; I bet they can help you with some of that stuff.
If you're looking for the felt window tracks that go into the doors, or fit around the door windows, try Vic’s Automotive Window Channeling, VicTor Zamora, P.O Box 1908, La Mirada Ca. 90637 (562) 947-5864 Voice Mail, thez@verizon.net .
The hood rods are just long steel rod with both ends threaded. All you need to do is find someone with a '37 Hudson Eight and then measure the length of his. The H-E-T website has a feature by which you can find owners various-year Hudsons (at least you can find those who bothered to register their cars with the Club!). You can look through this to see if anyone near you has a matching car.
Here are the pictures of the car.
Nice find, congratulations.
It looks like this 1937 Hudson Left the factory as Opalescence Green but then repainted (looks like a dealer did it since the jams and cowl were done) Ocean Blue.
