All - I'm excited as heck. My 'new' '51 Hornet Conv finally arrived in my driveway in Germany this morning. Took over a month to get here, but was well worth the wait.
Went to meet the hauler at 0730 at the German Customs - the customs officer's comment when he opened the back of the transport truck was "Du lieber Gott!" - then he brought it to my place and off-loaded it, to the astonished stares of my staid German neighbors.
What a BEAUTIFUL car. I am eternally grateful to Park Waldrop for entrusting me to buy his much-loved 7A conv. The car really looked good in all the detailed pics he sent, and it is just as nice in real life. Even my wife (who was skeptical about spending 'all that $$' on an old Hudson) was thrilled, and instantly won over when I nosed it into the drive.
I'm looking forward to some really great Hudsoning around west-central Germany this summer. Cheers, Brent
congratulation on the new car
Wunderbar!
Brent, I'm sure you will enjoy that car !! It is a beauty!
Schon!
Congratulations, Beautiful Hudson.
Doug - You played a part in making it happen. Much appreciate your 'Hudsonly' advice over the past months on this, and a few other, cars. I'm really glad Park's car was the one, as it's truly a beauty.
BTW - Still would like to get a set of wire wheels, if you know of any sources. Don't know if any repros are considered 'acceptable', or if anyone does Hudson center caps, etc. Let me know if you have any suggestions. - Brent
