Can anyone tell me the aprox value of her? I'm in to her around 16k so far...new clutch, new brakes, shocks ect...runs great! Havent been able to find much info on 47 hudsons with the factory spotlight... was told she was originally a military staff vehicle?
No idea of value. The military angle would have been a great selling point, but without proof (old photos, official papers with the car's serial number, etc.) that would be mere conjecture. Whatever you ask for it, be sure to say "or best offer". Do advertise everywhere: Hemmings, Old Cars Weekly, various websites including this one and the AACA Forum (which will be free), and of course in the White Triangle News. Best way to decide on a value (aside of paying a professional appraiser) would be to explore the internet trying to find what comparable Hudsons would have actually sold for. Check Ebay "completed auctions". Also, some of the big antique car auction houses will actually publish the selling price.
nice car. Texas, I am living in El Paso, Texas, Howdy!
Howdy! Thank you =)
The presence of the spotlight is not sufficient to make the military connection. Spotlights were a common accessory both when the car was in everyday use and now when they are restored. Just thought you might like to know in case you get questioned.
