I have a 53 Hollywood and I want to put air in it. I have an old under dash Thermo King Evaporator and I have a couple of compressors and condensers. I need a compressor bracket and hoses and someone to fit it all together. Any suggestions? I also have a 51 Pacemaker BROUGHAM 2 DR. TO SELL, restored a few years ago, it looks exactly like "DOC" and has a nice running 232 WITH STICK W/OD. Any suggestions on either? do we still have a cars for sale SPACE IN HERE OR IS THE WTN THE WAY TO GO. I LIVE IN MN. THANKS, BOBBY

We do indeed have a cars for sale place here at the forum, it's called "Cars For Sale / Wanted".

And, I would also post it at our Hudson Open Forum (which also has a cars for sale section) because it is viewed by a lot of "outsiders" who won't see the WTN or this HET forum:. http://forum.hetclub.org/categories/vehicles-for-sale-or-wanted-

Then, I would send it into the WTN as well, since there are a number of Hudson people who are not online.

Walt,

Did you install your own vintage air? How hard was it?

Good to see you, btw.

Thoughts and prayers, Roger.

Robert,
Joe Stinnet, a club member in Florida , makes reproduction A/C compressor brackets in cast aluminium. I used these when I put air in my 54 Special. I also followed Walt's advice and am very satisfied with the results. Thank you, Walt.

I made my own brackets and it was easy to install. I also made the bracket to install the power steering pump as I have rack and pinion steering all installed and never cut or touch the frame. I have 3 belts, air compressor, alternator and power pump. I'll take pictures of my set up. Walt.

If you put that 55-56 AMC Hornet style AC bracket on there, you will find it will have t be removed to get access to the fuel pump. Compressor will be almost touching the inner fender. If you must use the AMC style AC bracket , you might want to use an electric fuel pump located back near the fuel tank. I made my own AC brackets of three different styles.

Richard, I cannot find the information that you have previously published on the forum as to the part numbers of the 5" Ford water pump pulleys you welded together to replace the original Hudson dual W P pulley. I have a similiar problem with heating in traffic and would like to copy your set-up. I have not turned my 6 blade fan around---yet.

Thanks in advance,
Bruce MacLellan

I never gave the part number. Here is what I bought on eBay, 2 of them. 1965-1967 Ford Mustang 200 cubic inches with AC water pump pulley #C5DE-8509-A.
Took about 2 months to find. Also had to get lots of dimensions on them to see if they could be modified for my application. The groove spacings were most important. Also the spacing determined where the lathe cut was made to get correct spacing from pulley front to the 1st belt location.
Make sure you study going to 5" the right way. The 6"& 3/8" one I was using was not Hudson but finding a double groove sheave that handles a custom layout is tough.. All I can say. Draw on graph paper and be sure these 5" ones match the larger ones layout you have by cutting and welding.
All this is why I didn't give numbers. I guess.
Note that this and other things keeps the gage at 160. Increasing the water flow 28% really solved my problem. BUT, others may already have a 5" WP pulley (believe stock is 5").
Oh, didn't even know the fan could be turned around. Anyway, you want the smooth side to be on the "air" side. Another worry: matching groove widths.
