Hello everyone,I'm new to this group, only took me 7 months to join but bare with me while i figure out how this works, lol! I'm looking for any and all information out there on my 1940 hudson 8 country club series 47 that I purchased last summer! It's my first car and I'm dearly in love with it! So far every hudson any body I have spoke with, has been so kind and accommodating! I took a road trip with a great group of collectors and drove the cars to Reno from central Washington for hot August nights.it was there I realized for certain I had a great great illness...cars! Came home and searched far and wide for the right car! Turns out, hudson is my kind of deal!!
Welcome to the H-E-T Forum, Anna! You've come to the right place, if you like Hudsons. We all share the same illness.
I'm not sure if you are a member of the H-E-T (or are merely registered at the website with visitors' privileges) but if not, you might to join. And, I don't know where you live, but you might also wish to join one of the Club chapters. Here is a [url=
]MAP[/url] to show you where they're located. This allows you to get to know fellow Hudson people who may live near you -- which can be a lifesaver if you need some advice or spare parts in an emergency!
If you have any questions, we'll sure try to answer them. I wish you many happy hours behind the wheel of your Country Club!
Welcome Anna, as Jon said you have come to the right place I have found that all in the het club to be most helpful. I have gathered much info for my 39. And the local chapters are most definitely a good idea to join. Much help and great people..
Vic
Welcome to the greatest bunch of car nuts you will ever meet!!!! Sounds like you've got a great car - but in this club it's a toss up as to which is more important - the cars or the people. As the unofficial club logo says "Come for the cars - stay for the people!!"
If you haven't joined our happy group of hud-nuts (as a club member) I urge you to do so soonest. And then hitch up with your local chapter. It'll be the best money you've ever spent, outside of buying a Hudson.
I've been a member of H-E-T for nearly 50 years - that's a long time. Most of this time I've been unable to afford a Hudson car - but nobody holds it against me.
My contribution to the club is an online library - you do have to be a club member to access it. There's a fair amount of 1940 literature there that you may find of use.
Every year the club has an International meet somewhere in the country - this years meet is in San Diego. I understand the host hotel has sold out, but there are alternates nearby. It's all in the White Triangle News that comes out every other month. Due to lead times you might not get your copy in time to make final plans should you wish to attend - but somebody on here will gladly send you details.
Hudsonly,
Alex B
