My '51 Hornet Hollywood has the metal strips that the stainless snaps over ....the clips are held in with sheet metal screws- just like the side trim. Terry

As Terry has pointed out. There is molding retainer strips that go here. The retainer goes over the body and rubber, sort of straddles the window/body opening. The retainer screws also needs to be sealed, using butyl tape, otherwise it will leak. The same goes for any and all body side moldings, roof moldings and/or trunk badges. Hudson used a leather washer under side badges, as well as the trunk badges/pork chops. They also had a special cup that went with them. If you are able to use the original bolts that secure most of the emblems, the length of the factory bolts are designed to use with the leather washer. Something else to remember, don't over tighten these badges, it will pull a dimple in the face of the badge. They are only diecast and easily bent or distorted.
