I don't want to openly place by build number on the forum ( no offense) but here is the teaser ----- Car number 85***
off the tag but I have come across an odd problem.
As far as the 1929 Technical information handbook says all series R cars are from 825407 thru 893401 with the
122.5" wheel base and the L's are listed as 41384 thru 46598 with the a massive 139" wheel base. My problem....
I have a 3 window coupe, not a sedan or a Victoria there for I am certain I have a model "R" HOWEVER my car
number is only 5 digits long, and no "R" series had a 5 digit number the other issue is that the L series didnt even start
with "8" anything, what am I missing........... Please help me understand........
The serial # is stamped into the right rear casting for the spring hanger. Look behind the right sidemount and see what the body tag says on the lower cowl? Ed
My guess is that somebody at some stage replaced the bulkhead plate with one from a l.w.b. car.
Definitely a Model R - Model L's didn't offer a coupe of any kind (ie, Convt coupe, RS Coupe,)
Hudsonly,

I looked at the other number and for some odd reason the last number on the body tag was only half stamped as I can now see the bottom of a number "1"just lightly pressed with all of the other numbers matching exactly........... never would have even seen it if I wouldn't have known where The other number is, thanks for putting up with me ( the Hudson newbie) lol
