Could someone please tell me how i remove the plastic center emblem over the horn ring on my 1947 Super Six? I need to remove the broken horn ring and find a replacement for it.
The 212 engine is newly rebuilt and back in the car. It ran for the first time in 61 years yesterday!

I believe 3 or 4 screws from the "back" side of the steering wheel hub. Been at least 30 years since I took mine apart 🙂

Pete, make sure you re-torque the cylinder head right away. Also, make sure the heat riser is in the open position. It will cause future problems if it is closed. RIC is correct in screws from the back, I think 6 total.

Does anyone have a '47 Hudson horn ring they want to sell?
Thanks for the above advice.

Pete, these are sort of hard to come by. I think through the years of driving, it was something that got abused continuously . Email Cole at info@wrphet.com We just found several boxes we forgot we had of '46-7 parts, and I think there was one in a box that wasn't broken.

They are not pressed metal but cast pot metal so they lack any long term strength particularly when off the wheel. Make sure your plater is careful if you find one and go down the plating path.
