Hello Terry,
I deleted the message because I was in error about the numbering system. for the 1951 model year, the first car off the line was numbered consecutively onwards from 101, 101 being the first, 102 being second, so forth. So your car does have a correct number. But is not the 122270th car off the line. Not really sure how to figure that out. Maybe Alex Burr can figure that out.

Here's the rest of the seats....slight seam separation on the top vinyl and very dry but overall, in pretty decent shape. There were brown buttons attached and two had fallen off, but they were under the covers. Terry

Interesting

Dan Harris has a 1951 S/N 8719

The gentleman in Florida was Phil McCall per the registry. His name and contact information should be available in in the Past Member look up on the site.

Thanks Aaron. The gentleman I talked to was named Frank McCall, but he did say he was selling the car for his brother who was in hospice care. He mentioned that their dad or grandfather had a Hudson dealership in Pennsylvania before they moved to Florida. He insisted that I drive the car from Florida to Minnesota saying "that car will take you anywhere you'd like with no problems" but I chose to have it shipped but I now know it would have made the trip easily. Scott- here's a couple pictures of one of the covers I removed. I'm still pondering what to do but realized I don't need to have an upholsterer take anything apart IF the seats from a '50 convertible and '51 coup (Hollywood) are the same. The seats covers from our convertible were taken off by the previous owner and put in bags so those are what I would have the upholsterer use for a pattern IF the seats are the same. The pleats in the seat are two inches apart and there's some kind of material sewn on the bottom under the pleats. The overall color is brown. Merry Christmas to all. Terry & Elaine

Thanks for the pics Terry, they look great. I have a '50 Commodore Coupe and I believe they are the same dimensions, at least they seem similar based on the pictures. The coloring would match my current interior perfectly and it would hid my original upholstery which is beyond repair. If you choose to sell them just drop me a line!

Merry Christmas!

If you are talking about the front seat, they are the same. Back seats for the convert have a smaller armrest, different seat backs and a narrower seat bottom.

After contemplating what to do with this interior, I've decided to leave the Leopard skin seats in the car for one driving season just to see the response of the other car enthusiasts in my area. It's always cool to be the only Hudson at a car show but to have two "only's" wrapped up in the same car should generate some interesting conversation. This plan also gives me time to find an upholsterer AND the cash to do the interior properly should I decide to go that route . Terry

I can't believe it's been over 2 years since I started this post but I'm finally getting around to finishing what I started. I've decided to remove the Leopard skin covers, have the seats refurbished (springs, padding etc.) and put the covers that were over the Leopards back on. I've been to many local car gatherings and the reaction is all over the place...."cool to gaudy" and "is that real leopard?" Kerry, if your still interested in these, send me a PM if you see this. They're in nice shape but for some seam separation and slight deterioration of the vinyl but the Leopard material is still in great condition. Hate to see them go but I have to listen to the boss....the wife! Terry

These are officially on the market! Someone save the Leopards! I have them off the seats and have taken pictures of the trouble spots, cracked vinyl on the top of the back seat. I have no idea what they're worth but I'm guessing they're gonna be cheap. No worries about getting special import status for exotic animal hides because, well, they're not real and they're already in the country! Last year at a car show a little girl about 7 looked in the car and asked, " are those real tigers?". I had to tell her that no animals were harmed in the making of those seats. Terry
