I just can't seem to keep my driver-side door closed. It also rattles a lot. Anyone have any hints on how to best adjust the door latch ? Thanks.

Buster

There is a 1942-1947 shop manual in the online library that may be of help.

I looked under manuals, technical bulletins, etc. and did not find the shop manual you said was there. Any more detailed help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

also check the hinge pins and the holes thay turn in for ware.if thay are loose it can keep the door from staying adjusted and make them rattle.

Make sure you lube the lock and latch mechanism very good. We find these are always dirty, gummed up and sticking. Lube both the latch and the striker. It works best if you use the red plastic straw that comes with the can of lube. This allows you to direct the spray better. If it is adjusted correctly, it should just go click - click, being pushed shut with very little pressure. If it doesn't, something is not adjusted correctly or wrong.
