A buddy of mine mention today that he saw a 20's pickup in the 1980s or so at the giant Antique Flea market in Bouckville NY. I told him I thought they didn't make any but he was positive. Before anyone says this guy doesn't know what he's talking about, let me just say he grew up with old cars. After WW II his father started buying old cars (1900 - 1920) and was close friends with the late Hal Denman of X 161 fame.
This car was and probably still in upstate NY
Could it be a Dover - a commercial Essex from the late 20's. The pdf below shows the range available.

David,
I should have stated "an early 20's Hudson truck (not pickup)". I told him it was probably a cut down sedan but he said it looked too good. I'm sure someone here knows about it and will chime in.
PS
This guy is amazing at getting old cars. He just picked up a complete all original 1939 Packard barn find about 30 miles from his home for $100. The mice got to the rear seats and the engine is stuck, but for $100 how can you lose?
