Can someone please let me now the correct way to remove the clock stem on a stepdown clock?
It's not obvious an I don't want to damage it.

Harley, The way to remove the stem is as follows: First get a small pair of the alligator set of vice grips. next, pull up the stem and clamp the shaft with the alligator vice grips. Next, unscrew the knob going in a counter clockwise direction. . The knob is now off and you can remove the bezel etc, etc.
