So while gutting the interior of my car I'm on the look out for coins or anything cool placing it in the time period (1950s). Besides a wooden ice cream cup paddle jammed between back seat cushions I found something pretty darn cool. At least I think it is.

Underneath the backseat carpet and wedged between the side vinyl trim and the tar paper underlayment, there was a corner of a newspaper. Here was a ripped corner of the Detroit Free Press from Wednesday, December 6, 1950 wedged into the car.

I was actually pretty excited to learn this and wanted to share my good fortune with folks who might care. Other then that the underlayment is definitely builders felt or tar paper. Complete with overlap chalk lines.

Till next time...

Ray

What a prize. That's a neat thing to find. Maybe a name for your car is in here. "Peace". "Victory", etc. All I found was a lot of mouse poop! Lol...k

Post the serial number - if the car was built in Dec 1950 the car would be a 1951 model with a serial number between 29402 thru 44902.
