I am thinking of selling an extra 308 head I salvaged off a car I parted but when I cleaned it up I noticed the center three head bolt holes were 7/16" and the rest are 1/2"....has this been drilled or is this the way they came? I don't want to sell the guy a part he can't use. Terry

I beleave that how thay were made, thay do not have dull pin to line up head so the 7/16 serve as alignment

Yes, the boltholes get larger as you go further from the center 3 of the head to compensate for expansion. Only the middle row of three tells you the bolt size
