Hi I know this has been asked probably 1000 times but what is the color of the engine paint in 1953 and 1954 Hudson Jet ... and where can I get the colors? Is there something close in spray can?
Thanks in advance
Jason

The '53 202 ci Jet engine was painted Bronze like the Hornet engines. Likewise, the '54 Jets and Hornets were painted red. When needed I just went to paint store and purchased the colors in aerosol cans.

The high temp "Oldsmobile Gold" is the closest I have found. Recently, someone told me they were going to discontinue it so I bought a case, but not sure if that is true.

Dupli-Color's "Universal Gold" is as close as I've seen to the original.

That Duplicolor "Universal Gold" was formerly sold as "Oldsmobile Gold" and is a very good match. I like a coat of their Gray primer under it to improve coverage uniformity. It's also a high-temp engine paint. With good prep, it's a tough, good looking finish.

And it looks more like the original if you don't lay it on too heavy. Let the texture of the cast iron show.

That's what used to be called Olds Gold. Same color.
