I would have added this one to the gasket replace one, but it is going to draw different comments. I have had it with broken bolts in the block of the older engines, that are rusted cooling systems and therefore, rusted bolts in the water jacket. Is there any better way than this to remove the bolts. My most successful way, that has not broke a bolt, is to run some iron out, ( Iron Rid found in a grocery store) [ Sodium Hydrosulfite], about 1/2 cup in the cooling system for 1/2 hour and drain and flush. Refill with water and run engine until hot again. Then drain radiator and block to avoid water in the crankcase, but do not flush, as this will cool the engine. Then use an Air or electric impact wrench like a Ingersol 231, to remove each bolt, making sure not stopping to run out, until it is all the way out. Stopping can cause it to seize. I would appreciate any input added here to avoid other members from breaking off these stupid 7/16 bolts. Thanks Boys.

Wow, Bobby, I've only worked on later 308s, and never had this much head bolt trouble. Scary to use impact wrench. Hope never to have your problem, and of course I put them on with some thread sealant to avoid this.. Thanks for sharing.
