As i was working on another problem on the car i noticed that the head was seeping above the water pump. There are some other spots on the side on the block that look like dried antifreeze also. So reading the book I figured I would ask a few questions.
When replacing the headgasket do I need to put a sealer on the gasket? And also do I have to take the bolts out in any particular order? The book only has a tightening diagram.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

A good coating of sliver paint helps. Leave until set, but not hardened, and install. Doesn't matter which way you undo the bolts, but you must tighten in correct sequence from center out. Tighten cold for alloy head, and hot for cast iron head. 65 lbs should do it.
