Is synesthetic oil good to use in a 1930 straight 8 engine?

Nobody really knows how synthetic oil will perform in a splash fed motor, and so far nobody has been game to be the guinea pig. Best to use a multigrade mineral 15W-40 grade in these engines for cold climate, and 20W-50 for hot areas.
