Has anyone ever seen a head like this. It is in member John Martin's 1935 Terraplane.

Have you considered asking Buzz Stahl?

Appears to be ribbed and aluminum. Maybe some sort of high compression aftermarket racing head. Interesting that it says HUDSON on it.

Believe that is a standard head on the 35 Hudson. Not many Hudson 6cyl around. I have seen two, and I have a head like that in my collection of used heads. It is cast iron.

There were several higher compression heads, aluminum lowers to disparate heat and a cast iron top with water jacket to keep aluminum head flat on block. A special gasket to seal the two head pieces. Water pump mounted on front of cast iron top section. Spark plugs mounted to the aluminum portion.
I have seen them for 1932, 1933,1934 and likely 35

My dad had a 35 Terraplane two door sedan with a straight six that had an aluminum head that looked very similar to this one.I thought an aluminum head was standard on a 35 six cyl.
