Hey all still making progress on my 51 Hornet but came across a destroyed dust shield/cover where it meets the pitman arm. I don't know if there was a dust shield at the junction with the center pivot arm since the manual does not have much info and there isn't any on it now.
Is there a source for these shields? Is there supposed to be one on the center pivot side?
Thanks

I can supply you with one.
Lance
What do these "dust shields" look like?

Well the dust shield on the picture of the pitman arm and the drag link ought to give you a good idea of their appearance.
Those certainly keep out rocks. Would suggest wrapping around the existing shield with self-vulcanizing high voltage rubber tape. At an electric supply house not a hardware store. You can totally encapsulate the joint so nothing can get in it (even water), yet any movement is unhindered. And it holds the grease better.

Lance... sent you a PM.
Richard... I'll look into that tape, it sounds like a really interesting material.
