Hello Members,

I am a new Hudson owner as of last week and I am so looking forward to the weather breaking here in the north! One day I hope to be able to contribute to the forum, for now however until I can gain some tribal knowledge I will need the experience of you veteran Hudson owners for help and advise.

So what did I buy? Actually I ended up buy two Hudson's, a 1942 Club Sedan (2-door) and a 1942 pickup and allot of parts! From what I can tell most of the parts are from 53-54 Hornet. My hope is to sell the truck and the parts to help subsidize the cost of the sedan.

The sedan is complete runner, needs a clutch. The truck is what I consider a "project" but it has most of the large items.

Here is a preview of some of the items I will be off loading shortly:

I have two Hydramatic transmissions and a third that is disassembled:

The disassembled one:

A random bench seat, any help identifying this?

A convertible top from I believe a 1954 Hornet? I have the cylinders and pump as well.

54 gas tank, not sure if its worth anymore than scrap?

Welcome on board, Don!

With any luck you can sell the parts you don't need, and help finance your restoration.

You didn't mention whether you'd made contact with your local chapter or not. Of course it's entirely optional to join a chapter, but doing so can be a great way to gain technical information (and perhaps find some parts) as well as new friends, so at least try to attend one of your local chapter's meetings and introduce yourself, whether or not you end up joining.

Welcome to the craziness, Don! Would like to see pics of the '42 when you get a chance. I'm interested in the convertible top mechanism or any other convertible parts you might have. Where are you located?

I would also be interested in the conv.top parts and mechanism. I have one that is broken in several places and really isn't in very good shape. The gas tank looks to be from a 55-6-7 and looks like the usual rusty top.

We also would be intersted in the clutch cores. the clutch disc on top has been modified to be a dry disc, probably useless, that's why it is laying around getting rusty. We supply Hudson clutch parts. Our number is three one seven-three nine eight-four one six three. give us a call, thanks Doug

Russ, just a reminder. If the person posting is a Club member you can search their contact information under Find Current Club Members.

Doug, you no longer have to spell your phone number out. The forum is not searchable by spam bots because we are inside the security of the Club site. You can also tell folks to find you in the Club roster to the left.

The only caveat is that if you are Site access only (not a paid club member), you will not have access to Club member information. One good reason to join the Club!

Jon: I did not make contact yet with my local chapter; I just joined this past Sunday.

Bruce: I will look at my flywheel collection tonight and post some pictures.

Russ: I am located in the suburbs of Detroit, MI

Russ/Doug: I will take some more photos for you of the top, it is not perfect, by any means but I feel very salvageable.

Doug: I have no use for the gas tank, are people still fixing these even in this condition? As for the clutch parts you offer, is it the materials you sell (the cork) and we install it or do you rebuild clutches? I would love to see the process for restoring these.

Hi Don,
If you are from the Detroit area, you might want to join the Home Chapter. We have quite a few very knowledgeable Hudson people who may be able to help you. We will be having a Chapter Meeting in Grand Blanc on March 11th. Would love to have you join us. Let me know.

Welcome to the wide world of Hudsoning. Hope you join the club.We are mostly good people with a few nuts. lol By the way those 42s are very rare Hudson cars. Very few made due to the war effect.
