I have bought a Hudson that has no paper trail and would like to find out how I can register in MA. Car was registerd in California in 1993 and has not been on the road since. What can I do? Have California plate number and vin is on the car and the vin is on the Hudson vin number site aswell. Thanks for any help.

Why not ask someone in the New England chapter of the HET, they probably have the answers.

Based on the experiences of the late Jim Fortin with the gestapo, er, Massachusetts DMV I think you will have to take said car to the nearest police station where they will verify the numbers and that the car is not stolen. Jim did this with at least one of his cars. When he went to the registry he ran into the problem that the serial number had less than the, what is it today - 16 alpha/numeric, characters. If I remember correctly he just added a bunch of zeros after the number.
Things may have changed since that time and I'm sure a New England member will jump in here and tell me I'm wrong.

Hudsonly,
Alex B
