Does anyone know what the original engine color was in the 1940 models?

Since you answered that one Fred how about a 1935 Terraplane 6 cyl and a 1939 as well. The '35 block presently is a type of "Myrtle Green" as i received it and I wonder about its color being correct and the 39 has no real discernable color to it.
Thanks in advance Rob

My dad had a 35 Hudson Terraplane two door sedan (black) with the 6 cyl. and the engine was painted aluminum/silver. It had an aluminum head.

I believe based on 55 years of observation that all 34-41
Hudson were aluminun/silver. I have seen several original
1942 engines both 6 and 8 that were medium gray.
1946-47 6cyl and 48-52 8 cyl were also silver.

Be happy to listen to others observations. 🙂
