Dave, I know you are planning on being here on Thursday, but if there is anything that you need or may want us to address, if you come early, maybe we can help. I look forward to seeing it !! Mike's '39 Cv is beautiful and also very unique. It would be cool to compare what changes were made from '38 to '39 . CU then

Doug - We will conspire to park them next to each other at least one day during the national so people can do that very thing. Dave will probably be in the Albright award area most of the week.

We took a lap with the car around the track Saturday evening. We only had time to drive the car maybe 2-3 miles before we headed up to Indianapolis so we did not really know how it would run. On Thursday we stopped at Doug's shop in Shelbyville on the way to Indy. Doug and his crew looked the car over and made some real good recommendations for us to consider. The car did not want to idle smoothly so Doug and Kyle dug in to see if they could correct the problem. We had to get to Indianapolis to check in so we left the car over night with Doug. He tore the carb down, re-built it and had the car running much better when we picked it up in the morning. Good enough that I am happy to report that it went around the track just fine. A great big thank you to Doug and his crew for all their help! By the way, the '38 was extremely well received by the Indy people and all the fans that saw the car.

Dave, thanks for your kind words, it was our pleasure. We're glad it went well. It really looks good in front of the 500 Museum. With your yellow shirt on, you look like a track official , just missing the special round Speedway hat ! We hope to see both of you in Chattanooga! Another beautiful Hudson !

The hat was $50. I passed on that but did buy license plate #38. I will take a picture of it and get it posted. Thanks again Doug.

Doug and his guys made sure the car would go around the track with no hiccups, and it worked. Hope to see you in Tn next month. I know I promised you a ride in the car if it ever got finished. However, on second thought though maybe you would like to give it a spin yourself.

I'll have to take a raincheck, Dave. We have decided not to attend the National this year.

JR and I will have the '38 there tomorrow evening. It will be interesting to hear how you think we did restoring our first Hudson.

Thank you for your comment Bill. It has taken over seven years and a good deal of money to get it where it is right now but we are proud of the car. Dr Doug said we did a good job on that car and that is good enough for me. I enjoyed meeting you last week and thank you for the nice comments you made then as well. Have a good summer, Dave
