Hello all,
New poster here. My first car was a 52 Hornet that I purchased in 1977. I was a club member for several years after that.
I recently rejoined after a 30 year absence hoping to find another Hornet.
Well , I haven't found the right Hornet yet But I have recently purchased a 1912 touring.
This car is incredibly original and almost complete. I do not have any plans to restore the car at present because
I have two restoration projects nearing completion. I would like to get this car driving and just putt around in it's "barn fresh"
condition.
The previous owner had owned the car since 1959 and at sometime in it's slumber the windshield and bottom seat cushions
went missing. Every other part to this car is present and accounted for.
Is there a go-to guy for this era car or someone out there that may have some extra parts?
Any recomendations for a good magneto rebuilder?
Many thanks,
Dennis
You don't say where you're from so I'll assume it's in the U.S.
Carl Weber is a good person to consult on the older Hudsons, and he buys and sells a lot of older car parts (and not just for Hudsons). He'll be at Hershey, in the Red Field.
Dave Kostansek is also a good person to consult for the older ones. He has a '12 touring model 33. He has restored several of the early Hudsons including an '09.
Contact info is in the National Roster. Another idea would be to leaf through the roster to find others with '12's (especially if they happen to live near you) and take your questions to them.
Thanks for the quick reply Jon,
Yes, I am in Dayton, Oh.
I will try to make contact with these fellows.
I will be at Hershey in the Orange field.
Thanks again,
Dennis
Glad to help, Dennis. Remember, the Hudson club booth is at the Red Field, spaces RNE 24-25, if you care to wander over!
