Hello Hudnuts. We are working on Jerry Lebold's '34 H8. We were finishing the brake work and found what appears to be a crack in the L.R.drum. We need one of these, can anyone help?. Thanks Doug
Do they fit multiple years? John Otto had an extra set for his 36 that he was going to try and sell. Just a shot in the dark.
No,I don't believe so. '36 was the first year for juice brakes. I have not looked at the parts book yet to see what mdl's and years they fit. I expect Terraplane will be different, but not sure.
Is it a long or short wheelbase? The drums are different. S.w.b. cars have only four studs, l.w.b. have five, and are bigger.
I thought I heard 33T8 drums were the same as 33 H8. The 33 is 4 lug.
Just bumping it back to the top. Does anybody have any ideas of where or who might have one?. Is there someplace that can repair this one?.
Is it 4 or 5 lug Doug?
Doug, I can't help you with the needed part - but the 1930-1939 Hudson Master Chassis Parts Book in the online library has an extensive list of brake drums as to what fits what. Unfortunately that manual is not one of my scans so it isn't really searchable. What you're looking for is on page 85, tho.

I was hoping a 33T8 was the same, but per the master chassis book that is not so. I know where a set of 34 Railton axels are, with drums. They are 4 lug, I assume a 34 Railton was the standard Hudson chassis / axles?
Asking price was $250 for the rear complete rear axle last I knew. PM if you want the contact info.

Matt, I haven't figured out how to PM yet. I don't know if what Aaron is talking about is how to instructions. Today I'm off with what I believe i kidney stones-in pain-later
Doug, here is coupon for 30 minutes of PM training delivered via telephonic device at your convenience. Hopefully after you have passed some of those Renal Jewels you are working on. I hate listening to other people suffer... 😛
Ouch, Doug! I had my first episode of kidney stones about 7 years ago and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy! Hope it's just a bit of indigestion. You deserve better than this!
Cheer up Doug - this to shall pass. Went 'round with 'em a while back. Don't know which hurts worse - kidney stones or gall blader.
Take care and get better quick, please.
