Hi,
Can anyone tell me what the correct color should be for a 51'- 53' Hydra-Matic transmission?

I believe they painted the engine and tranny as a unit, so same color regardless of tranny type. And that seems to be the way "everyone" does it.
(I've lost track. Someone, when did they change from silver or gold to red? '54, or earlier?)

232 &262 engines thru 1953 were silver. Hornet engines from 51 thru 1953 were gold. Jeet engines in 1953 were gold. All engines were red in 1954, no exceptions.
