Had the 232 head checked over and skimmed. Just wondering what particular colour these were originally? Currently machinery grey and tossing up whether to leave as is or change. I believe the bigger motors were a goldy colour - was that the same for the baby motor?
Thanks in advance.

All the Hudson stepdown engine where silver. Except the 308. It appeared to me that after the engine was assembled with the transmission, the whole assembly was sprayed silver. including the water pump. generator and starter were black.
Yes 308's were gold for 51

Although, I can't verify this from any other source, according to the info on Sarah's Jet site, the '53 Jet engines were also Gold as standard, then Red in '54. I had asked her about the color when rebuilding our '54 and she said it was red but gold was optional. A color option for the Jet engines? No wonder they couldn't stay afloat!
Now.....c'mon. The Jet is a Hudson, too.
